TEMA: Mark Chesnutt - Outlaw (tracklist)

Mark Chesnutt - Outlaw (tracklist) 15 años 2 meses antes #3882

Tracks
1. Black Rose
Written by: Billy Joe Shaver
Recorded by: Billy Joe Shaver in 1973 for his debut album "Old Five And Dimers"
Billy Joe Shaver slipped onto the recording scene very quietly in 1973. He was already heralded a fine songwriter by Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings, but even they'd recorded one or two songs of his up to that point. After the issue of this debut album, however, the floodgates opened for Shaver with the aforementioned trio and Johnny Cash himself recording Billy Joe's songs -- a trend that continued 30 years later. "Black Rose" echoes the Band's "Cripple Creek" with its funky country shuffle.

Also recorded by: Waylon Jennings on Honky Tonk Heroes Album
Note: Black Rose was never released as a single but stands as one the first true "Outlaw" recordings

2. Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound
Written by: Hank Williams Jr
Recorded by: Hank Williams jr in 1979 for the Album "Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound"
Hank Jr took this song to #2 in 1979

3. Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line
Written by: Ivy J. Bryant, Jr
Recorded by: Waylon Jennings in 1968 for the Album "Only The Greatest"
Waylon took the song all the way up to #2 in 1968 and it was with this recording that Waylon started to emerge out of the Nashville Sound and into Outlaw.

4. A Couple More Years (with Amber Digby)
Written by: Dennis Locorriere/Shel Silverstein
Recorded by: Jennings in 1976 for the Album "Are You Ready For The Country"
Waylon never released this song as a single
Dr Hook took the song to #51 in 1976

5. Need A Little Time Off For Bad Behavior
Written by: David Allan Coe/Bobby Keel/Larry Latimer
Recorded by: David Allan Coe in 1987 for the Album "A Matter Of Life And Death"
David Allan Coe took this song to #34 on the Country Charts and it has been an Anthem for the Outlaws ever since

6. Sunday Morning Comin' Down
Written by: Kris Kristofferson
Recorded by: Johnny Cash in 1970 for the Album "The Johnny Cash Show" A Live Album recorded at the Grand Ole Opry
Johnny took this song to #1 in 1970 and this was one of the first songs that Kris Kristofferson had recorded

7. Are You Ready For The Country
Written by: Neil Young
Recorded by: Waylon Jennings in 1976 for the Album "Are You Ready For The Country"
Waylon took this song to #7 on the country charts and Neil Young included this on his 4 million selling album "Harvest" in 1972

8. Lovin' Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll ever So Again)
Written by: Kris Kristofferson
Recorded by: Kris Kristofferson in 1971 for the Album "The Silver Tongued Devil and I"
Kris took this song to #26 on the Pop Charts
Also recorded by:
Bobby Bare, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller
in 1981 Tompall and the Glaser Brothers took the song to number 2 on the charts.

9. Country State Of Mind
Written by: Alan Wade/Hank Williams, Jr
Recorded by: Hank Williams Jr in 1986 for the Album "Montana Cafe"
Hank Jr took this song to #2 on the country charts in 1986

10. Freedom To Stay
Written by: Bill Hoover
Recorded by: Waylon Jennings in 1973 for the Album "Lonesome On'ry and Mean"
Never released as a Single, this songs is from what some consider the first "Outlaw" Album

11. Bloody Mary Mornin'
Written by: Willie Nelson
Recorded by: Willie Nelson in 1974 for the Album "Phases and Stages"
Willie took this song to number 17 on the country charts and was from Willie's first concept albums And his first step into Outlaw

12. Desperados Waitin' For A Train
Written by: Guy Clark
Recorded by: Jerry Jeff Walker in 1973 for the Album "Viva Terlingua"
Never released as a single, it's been recorded by The Highwaymen, Willie Nelson, David Allan Coe, Waylon Jennings and Rita Coolidge

Thank God I´m a Country Boy

Sin duda una excepcional selección de canciones. Es difícil destacar alguna pero desde la primera vez que la escuché por Jerry Jeff Walker siempre he tenido debilidad por "Desperados Waitin' For the Train".
