...1945, Ernest Tubb graba la canción "It's been so long darling" en Decca.

Loretta Lynn

¿Elvis?

It's been so long darling since i had to go away
it's been so long darling and i can't forget that day
although you never mentioned it you cried that whole day long
it's been so long darling but now i'm coming home
it's been so long darling since i gazed into your eyes
it's been so long darling do you really realize
just the thought of seeing you it scares me through and through
it's been so long darling since i had a kiss from you
it's been so long darling but it won't be long now
it's been so long darling but i've kept every vow
i pray that you'll be waiting as you did in days gone by
it's been so long darling please don't blame me if i cry
it's been so long darling

(Ernest Tubb)

1964, Warner Mack graba la canción "Sittin' in an all night cafe" en Decca.

por cierto, el instrumento que tocan en el segundo 50", cual es, hoy en día es una reliquia no?

Bill Anderson

Sittin' in an all nite cafe in a booth back in the corner
makingpaper wads from napkins throwing toothpicks on the floor
got a problem i can't solve so i'm gonna sit till i figure out
the reason why my baby doesn't love me anymore
It can't be another woman cause i never looked at any one
long as i've been knowing her that's a long long time
i've drank so many cups of coffee bet you that i'll get an ulcer
sittin' in this all nite cafe with my baby on my mind
Sittin' in an all nite cafe listening to the jukebox playing
overhead the waitress saying i wonder why he don't go home
i'll bet my baby's out with someone laughing dancing and romancing
and i'll bet she never thinks of me sittin' here alone
it can't be another woman
sittin' in this all nite cafe with my baby on my mind

...1952, Sonny James graba "That's me without you" en Capitol.

Webb Pierce

A night with no moonlight a day with no sun
a plain with no palace a watch that won't run
a tree with no branches a rose with no dew
a boy with no sweetheart that's me without you
a train with no whistle a car with no gas
a well with no water a show with no cast
a love with no future a sky with no blue
a boy with no sweetheart that's me without you
a bank with no money a top that won't spin
a book with no story a love i can't win
a chair with no bottom a rig with no crew
a song with no music that's me without you
a train with no whistle a car with no gas
a well with no water s show with no cast
a court with no jury a church with no pew
a boy with no sweetheart that's me without you

...1963, Lefty Frizzell graba "Saginaw, Michigan"

George Jones

I was born in Saginaw, Michigan
i grew up in a hourse on Saginaw Bay
my dad was a poor hard working Saginaw fisherman
too many times he came home with too little pay
I loved a girl in Saginaw, Mighican
the daughter of a wealthy, wealthy man
but he called me that son of a Saginaw fisherman
and not good enough to claim his daughter's hand
Now i'm up here in Alaska looking around for gold
like a crazy fool i'm a digging in this frozen ground, so cold
but with each new day i pray i'll strike it rich and then
i'll go back home and claim my love in Saginaw, Michigan
I wrote my love in Saginaw, Michigan
i said honey, i'm a coming home, please wait for me
and you can tell your dad, i'm coming back a richer man
i've hit the biggest strike in Klondyke history
Her dad met me in Saginaw, Michigan
he gave me a great big party with champagne
then he said son, you're wise, young ambitious man
will you sell your father in law your Klondyke claim
Now he's up there in Alaska digging in the cold, cold ground
the greedy fool is a looking for the gold i never found
it serves him right and no one here is missing him
least of all the newly weds of Saginaw, Michigan
We're the happiest man and wife in Saginaw, Michigan
he's ashamed to show his face in Saginaw, Michigan

(Bill Anderson, Don Wayne)
